A week ago Granny, her 2 daughters, 5 of her granddaughters, 2 of her great granddaughters & 1 great grandson gathered for a great time of reminiscing & laughter. Of course there was great food...even Steph's punch concoction turned out pretty tasty. You are DEFINITELY a Meuth. They can whip out something using everything but the kitchen sink. I think I missed that gene. Granny, Lauren & Jolee played a game of Wahoo. Believe it or not, none of them could remember who won?! I can't wait to work on kolaches with everyone in September!

Enchanted Rock
The Barta Clan, Schmidt Gang & stragglers from the Ellisor bunch went to Enchanted Rock just before spring break. The hill country is so beautiful and E-Rock is absolutely amazing. We had to work hard with all the walking, climbing and caving, but it was worth it (unless you ask Ronnie). This was definitely something new for the Schmidt Gang. Uncle Steve & Aunt Mary Jo were very generous and treated all to sweet treats at Dairy Queen after all the hard work. True to form, Steve just had to have his nightly popsicles. Against Mary Jo's better judgement (since we didn't have a freezer), Steve bought a large box and shared with everyone. The Schmidt kids each had at least 4! We always have such a great time when we all get together. How blessed we are!

Let The Games Begin...
Tonight Trey & Aliska both had their first basketball games. Both scored points in their game and both of their teams won. Trey was stealing balls left & right; he played point guard also. Aliska played some point guard and played great defense. It helps them both that they have to stay with dad after school and pick up things he tells/shows the varsity team.

Little Dribblers
Ronnie & the kids have started the little dribblers season. Their schedules are listed above or you can go to eastbernardyouthbasketball.org and click on the 2009 Season. East Bernard girls varsity basketball is just about in mid season. We are really proud of the girls hard work & dedication. They are constantly improving and continue to put it all out there when they play. Even if the scores don't always reflect it, they have much to be proud of.
'09 Is Here!
Happy New Year to all our friends & family! We rang in the New Year dancing the night away to East Bernard's very own Dujka Brothers. What great dancing music. They are truly talented musicians. I have the world's best mother-in-law. Vera came to keep the kids and even made lunch for us & Rhonda's bunch on New Year's day. We want to wish everyone a safe, healthy & blessed 2009.
